Youtube + Gaming – A Perfect Combination
Gaming has become a very important part of our lives. It takes out all the stress we have and it’s fun, simple. However, if you’re like me, you might find it frustrating when you’re stuck on a level that’s kind of impossible to finish without any outside help.
Take me as an example, I spent hours in Pokemon Black 2 and couldn’t find where Kyurem was. That’s just a simple example, I felt the urge to go back and play Sonic R – my childhood game. But back then, I didn’t know much. All I did back then is pick Sonic and run. Today, with the help of some Youtube gaming channels, I found out that you can actually collect all the Chaos Emeralds and obtain Super Sonic. If you don’t know, it’s not shameful to ask for some help. Now the real question lies here, what’s the best Youtube Gaming Channel?
Honestly, that would be extremely hard to answer. It’s not because of the number of channels you’ll find out there, but the type of the content each one offers. Every channel caters a different crowd and reviews different games. Some of them try to cover all genres and they end up being burnt out in a month or two tops, which is due to the sheer exhaustion of covering content that might not be important to most.
Some of these pages are just for fun, while others just go right into the topics. I won’t lie, you will find channels that cover both grounds in a single video. One of my best Dota 2 channels goes to an Australian guy that I’ll be talking about later on.
Top Gaming Youtube Channels – Full Review
Based on what I learned throughout my years of gaming, trustworthy gaming channels can offer you a lot. In this review, I’ll be covering some of the best Youtube Gaming pages. The analysis is not based on subscribers or how many views these guys get. It all depends on the quality of their content, how much it helps you in your gaming experience, and whether or not it’s fun to watch. Now, fellow gamers, in order to “level up”, check out this review of the best Gaming Youtube Channels.
Gaming (Official Youtube Channel)
Gaming is the official page on Youtube dedicated to every related to online games and live streams. You can literally find anything you need on the channel’s page whether it’s a live stream you’re looking for or past championship matches.
As you can see above, Gaming has 81 million subscribers. That’s because there is so much to do on the channel’s page. Live streams are pretty important. Imagine yourself waiting for a sports event to occur, yeah, that’s the same thing here. You can pick your game and join in on matches happening at the moment. There’s no doubt that you have to time it according to your time zone, but hey, you still get to see them.
Let me give you an example, if you pick Dota 2 from the Gaming channel, you can stream live matches no matter where they are. Take a look at what you’ll find.
That’s just a simple example of what you can actually see on the channel. You can also watch PUBG matches as well as one of my best games, Age of Empires.
PewDiePie
PewDiePie has made a big impact on the gaming industry when we’re talking about channels on Youtube. The dude is only 29 years old and he has more than 92 million subscribers.
The Swedish YouTuber is a comedian and a gamer-commentator that is best known for his content on the channel. Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg got really popular he became the main subject of a “South Park” episode where he voiced himself.
Felix launched his channel reviewing games. Now, his channel has expanded to several genres covering all sorts of content that occurs on the internet. He even posted an hour and thirty minutes long video of him playing Fortnite (He won for the first time). So, if you’re an avid gamer, PewDiePie’s YouTube is a must for you. Check it out.
Markiplier
This one might be your new YouTube obsession. Markiplier‘s videos are hilarious, slap-stick funny, but still can get serious at times. The cinematography is everything in each video. You can literally tell that Mark Edward is a professional and puts a lot of time on his work before submitting it to the fans. He has 23.5 million subscribers, which is a very big deal if you’re a YouTube uploader.
You could listen to him talk all day. He has a very catchy voice and the things he does for charity are just heartwarming. I noticed that Mark focuses on Horror genres a lot. You should probably check his Resident Evil 2 reviews, they’re outstanding. He also plays GTA 5, Minecraft, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Jacksepticeye
McLoughlin calls himself the “most energetic video-game commentator on YouTube”. Well, based on the videos I watched, I agree. He plays and talks at the same time, oh and there’s a lot of swearing included. Apparently, people find it funny when you react directly to what’s happening “live”, in other words, being yourself.
Sean played and reviewed the remake of my favorite childhood game, Spyro the Dragon. Back in the day, it was Year of the Dragon. Now, on PS4, it’s Spyro Re-ignited. You really can’t give this man too much credit if you don’t check out his videos. Give them a try.
Dorkly
Dorkly is a fun take on fandom – covering movies, TV, videogames, comics, and more. I don’t want to be biased and I won’t be, but this channel is so amazing. You have no idea how funny they are and how creative they can get by re-animating every game you thought you knew back then. For example, you should see how they re-imagine every SEGA game including Sonic to make an original story out of it.
When Sonic tries to find a job or when Pokemon meet their Shiny forms, it’s all animated in their own perspective and with funny inside jokes only gamers can understand. Ok, I notice that their page doesn’t have as many subscribers as the ones before, but this page is worth your time trust me. Just check the comments of every one of the 2.8 million they have on their channel.
Mortal Kombat has been a fan favorite for all the generations. It’s been on every single console and you’ll even find it on newer ones including PlayStation 4. However, if you see what Dorkly has done with it, you’ll love the game even more. I’m not going to say much, you’re going to have to see for yourself.
VanossGaming
Evan Fong is a hilarious person who posts montage-style videos on YouTube of him and other creators playing various video games. He and his friends are ridiculously funny and they make it fun to watch as they play games and provide commentary at the same time. You can describe them as a group of friends having fun playing together.
I personally watch his videos and he doesn’t seem to show himself at all. Well, no one cares what he looks like as long as he’s good at what he does. You might notice that Evan doesn’t push any of VanossGaming‘s 23 million subscribers to like or invite others, what he gets is purely based on the content he posts. If you subscribe to his channel, you’ll be treated with gameplay videos of various games including Fortnite, Call of Duty, Uno, and GTA.
You will automatically fall in love with the humor of the Call of Duty videos. Reminded me of playing with my friends and all our good times and now he has moved on to computer gaming and the videos keep getting better and better.
The Game Theorists
Matthew Patrick was born on November 15, 1986, in Medina, Ohio. This Youtuber has gained his success by making video studies on games and develop theories. His channel analyzes video games rather than playing and commenting on them. He relies on using academic subjects to provide an educational experience for viewers.
The videos in Game Theorists consist of him speaking over pictures and other video clips. Besides using factual evidence and research, MatPat also puts a lot of humor into his videos, usually exaggerating his humor far more than he would in real life. You’ll find video revolving around Fortnite, Apex Legends, Assasin’s Creed, Pokemon, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
His channel has over 11 million followers of gaming fans who like to know more and dig deeper into the games the play. Imagine having a different perspective of something other than throwing a Pokeball on a moving electrical mouse. Mattew will take you on a different journey when it comes to gameplay and the real reason something occurs in a game along with a giggle here and there every once in a while.
UberHaxorNova
James Richard Wilson Jr. better known online as UberHaxorNova is an American YouTube commentator, gamer, and comedian. Emphasis on comedian the guy is very funny when he reviews a game.
The last video I watched was when he was playing Megaman 11 for the first time. You guys, if you don’t know him, you should start off with this video as you’ll fall in love with him instantly.
You can tell that he’s very down to earth, very funny and charismatic. He is fun to watch. His crazy personality and his hilarious freakouts are well worth the subscription.
James has more than 3 million subscribers on his channel. That’s mainly due to his reviews on games like Resident Evil 2, Megaman, Hitman 2, Spiderman, and Battlefield. Here’s the video that got me to obsess over his channel.
LazarBeam
Lannan Eacott, better known online as LazarBeam, is an Australian YouTuber mostly known for his Fortnite: Battle Royale videos. LazarBeam’s early YouTube efforts didn’t have anything to do with video games at all. There was no commentary about a game he was playing.
His page kicked off when he started making videos about the popular game, Madden. Now, he chose to widen his reach by playing some different games. And it should come as no surprise that one of the games he chose was Fortnite.
LazarBeam has almost 10 million subscribers. That’s mainly because he started covering more gaming content so that his videos can reach a bigger audience. Here are some of the games LazarBeam covers on his channel:
- Afterlife: The Game
- Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3: Zombies
- Fallout 4
- Fortnite: Battle Royale
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Madden 16
- NBA
- The Sims 4
- The Division
- WWE
- Pokémon Go
- Poly Bridge
DanTDM
Daniel Robert Middleton, known online as DanTDM, is a British YouTube personality and a professional gamer. He covers dozens of games on his channel, but mainly Minecraft. He has more than 21 million subscribers and the channel has been listed as one of the top ones in the United Kingdom.
The interesting thing about Dan’s page is that it covers several genres and targets all ages. He really cares about viewers who are mostly children. There’s nothing he says that may cause a child to act out and he doesn’t swear much unless it’s in a video targeted to older ages. You’ll find updated videos about Fornite, Let’s Go Pikachu, Spiderman, and lots of other games on different gaming consoles.
Are There More?
You’ll find hundreds of YouTubers that have their own gaming channels. However, some of them have to step up their game in order to reach the top spots. For example, one of my favorite gamers is called Cayinator. I’ve been playing Dota for more than 11 years ever since Dota 1 existed and I’ve never been interested in playing with Techies. After watching this guy’s videos, I’ve been practicing all day long based on what he does in a game. He’s funny, interactive, and communicates in an amazing way with other players in the game. Trust me when I tell you, his page is worth checking. As for other YouTubers, you’ll find the likes of Rezendeevil, TheWillyrex, and Vegetta777. These guys are pretty good at what they do. Go to their pages and see for yourself.

YouTubers have made a living out of what they post on social media. Gamers have taken advantage of the website to post their own commentary or play-throughs of games.
